AkademikerPension Strengthens Its ESG Efforts with Detailed Energy Data

“Detailed energy data enables us to take action – with measurable results.

Our collaboration with ReMoni supports AkademikerPension’s ambition to be a climate-responsible pension company. As a consulting engineer, I highly value the insight that ReMoni’s solutions provide into our electricity consumption. The detailed data foundation allows us to identify concrete improvement opportunities, and we have already implemented initiatives that have demonstrably reduced both energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.”

Case overview

  • Goal: Gain insight into baseload consumption, support CO₂ reduction initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and document energy savings for ESG reporting.
  • Number of buildings: Headquarters in Gentofte, Denmark, including 1 main switchboard, 5 sub-switchboards, and 25 monitored areas and energy-consuming assets.
  • Solution implemented: Detailed electricity consumption measurements using EnergyXplorer Deep Dive, combined with data visualization and energy consumption analysis.

Background

AkademikerPension wanted to gain deeper insight into electricity consumption at its headquarters in Gentofte, with a particular focus on baseload consumption. The goal was to improve documentation of energy use, target energy-saving initiatives toward the most significant consumers, and strengthen ESG efforts and CO₂ reduction reporting.

The Solution

In February 2025, AkademikerPension partnered with ReMoni to obtain detailed electricity measurements and data-driven energy analysis. The collaboration began with an assessment of the building’s overall consumption. ReMoni’s sensors were then installed in electrical switchboards and on selected energy-consuming assets by AkademikerPension’s own electrician, enabling detailed monitoring of electricity use.

Using the collected data, ReMoni mapped the electricity consumption profile and identified the components contributing to the building’s baseload. This provided AkademikerPension with the data needed to implement targeted energy-saving measures, document the results, and report the impact of these initiatives based on continuous, real-world measurements.

Initial Results

Through detailed electricity measurements, AkademikerPension has gained comprehensive insight into where and when energy is being consumed throughout the building.

Key outcomes include:

  • Targeted adjustments to the ventilation systems have been implemented, with their impact documented through before-and-after measurements.
  • The effect of a newly installed heat pump can now be documented, including both energy savings and reductions in CO₂ emissions.
  • Solar PV production can be compared against the supplier’s expected output data and continuously verified.
  • Standby consumption in kitchens and office environments has been mapped, providing detailed insight into the building’s baseload consumption.

All operational changes are documented through before-and-after measurements, making it possible to isolate the impact of individual initiatives and use the results for ESG reporting and energy certification purposes.
