Remoni is branching out in Romania, but international giant is stealing the potential employees

In 2021, Remoni got ready to go into operation, and this was to be done, among other things, by establishing production in Romania, where they have settled in the eastern city of Iași.

They have come a long way with that now, says CEO Bo Eskerod Madsen.

It is both on the staff and equipment side that there have been some challenges, but things are going in the right direction.

– We have found the core employees to build the production lines in Romania, but it takes time to find the right people and buy in for the production lines, because there are different procedures and tenders that must be followed, says Bo Eskerod Madsen.

Amazon in the same city

A year and a half ago, it was imagined that it would be relatively straightforward to hire employees in Romania.

It has been both a right and a wrong assumption.

– In some areas it has been easier to get people, for example for the production department.

But a large international giant in the form of the webshop Amazon has made it difficult to attract IT people.

– It is more difficult to find the right people for software development, because Amazon has a development department in the same city, so they need a lot of people, says Bo Eskerod Madsen, who however explains that there is a university in Iași, why after all there are some candidates to choose from.

Bo Eskerod Madsen says that ReMoni’s production lines in Romania are finally finished and ready for use at the end of 2023.

Amazon i samme by

Competitors must help sensor specialists into Europe: – They can see that we have a smart technology

Things are going well for the Skanderborg company Remoni, who have been successful in recent years with their IoT solutions for energy optimization.

So far, they have an office in Denmark and also production in Romania, but the money is mainly earned in Denmark.

That, CEO, and founder Bo Eskerod Madsen hopes, will change in the future, because Remoni wants to go out into the world – at least in Europe in the first instance.

– We want to expand, deliver more services and generally go beyond the Danish borders, says Bo Eskerod Madsen.

Will establish partnerships

ReMoni’s way out into the rest of Europe must be through local partnerships, says the director.

– We will grow a lot through partners when we go into other countries, because they have the people and they have the presence, says Bo Eskerod Madsen.

Therefore, they are already probing the terrain for potential partnerships in European countries.

– We are looking for partners, and it could be, for example, those who would otherwise see us as competitors, because they have access to the market, support, service, installation and so on.

But won’t it be difficult to convince potential competitors to cooperate with you?

– Maybe it will be difficult, but many are good at seeing the possibilities, and if they are far-sighted enough, they can see that we have a smart technology, says Bo Eskerod Madsen.

The US will be difficult – at first

However, the director insists that initially it will be in the European markets that they will expand the business, because there are some practical measures that make it more difficult to cross the Atlantic.

– We are betting on Europe first, because there are some approvals in the US that we do not have yet, and that costs a lot of resources. In Europe it is easier because it is the same approvals, so it makes sense to start here. But which countries we enter will be driven a lot by where we can establish some good partnerships, says Bo Eskerod Madsen.

USA bliver svært – i første omgang

EarthOvershootDay

Today is Denmark’s #EarthOvershootDay  – the day when our total global consumption of resources exceeds our planetary regeneration rate.

Calculations from the UN show that we must reduce our emissions by 45% by 2030 (also from buildings) in order to reach #NetZero by 2050.

As Stefani Erika Papadaki from CBRE writes in Børsen, one of the best ways to achieve this is by looking at renovating the existing building stock.

95% of the current building stock will still be standing in 2050.

Three out of four investors believe that reducing energy consumption and thus the building’s CO2 footprint is the most effective way to influence property value.

Unfortunately, the lack of quality data has proven to be one of the major obstacles to achieving #ESG goals.

Quality data is now available and you can therefore already start today to make a significant effort for the climate – even without renovating.

Maybe that was a place to consider starting?

Earth Overshoot Day

World Water Day

Today, World Water Day is celebrated across most of the globe.

Clean drinking water is – so far – a matter of course in Denmark.

But it will not continue to be so.

The two best ways to ensure clean drinking water for the future are to:

  1. Stop polluting the water.
  2. Use as little of it as possible and avoid waste.

Unfortunately, we at ReMoni cannot do anything about point no. 1.

We work on point no. 2 every day

If you want to join the team and make a real, decisive difference to the water of the future, check out our vacancies at: https://lnkd.in/eJ3s9F4S

Vandets Dag

1. Lade være med at forurene vandet.
