Find the hidden energy waste with ReCalc MoniTor

ReCalc MoniTor på 3 skærme

Your production goes in standby every night and weekend – or does it?

Gain insight into your actual consumption distributed on the individual machines with the new software ReCalc MoniTor.

Based on AI and algorithms, you get custom dashboards and the ability to set alarms to self-selected limit values.

Such a specific overview has not been possible before.

In short, the ReCalc MoniTor makes it easy to detect and locate irregular consumption.

Utilize the district heating: Pay less for the same

In Denmark we have been heating households with district heating since the 1920’s. Not surprisingly the consumption rose during the industrialisation in the 1950’s and 1960’s and has been high ever since.

District heating the sustainable way

District heating is an inexpensive heating method, and combined with heat pumps it turns out to be the most environmentally friendly heating method.

Buildings are responsible for approximately 40% of EU energy consumption – including the ”invisible” and non-intended consumption when buildings are shut down and should not be running. In 2020 large amounts of money are still spent on empty and incorrectly operated buildings all over the world.

ReMonis purpose is to solve challenges like these.

Figure: Constant energy monitoring (green) VS occasional energy monitoring (black).

Cooler than intended

The black graph on the figure indicates how good the users of certain buildings are getting the most out of the district heating. Overall, this figure shows how a group of users are getting significantly less value for money over time.

Less value for money reflects, that the users ends up with a colder building than intended needing an extraordinary amount of energy to heat a room up to the desired temperature.

A falling energy efficiency makes the Facility Manager pay for an energy consultant, who will examine the current operation status to find and fix the errors. The black graph on the figure indicates the efficiency of an energy consultant audit – but also how this improved efficiency will continue to decrease if the audit is not repeated frequently.

Effective audits

Energy services are effective until the installations are temporarily turned off – which leads to an unintended resetting, affecting how the installations are operated.

In comparison with the black graph, the green graph on the figure indicates the effect of energy monitoring provided by ReMoni.

This comparison should be interpreted considering time spend finding the mistakes vs. the documented improvement over time. ReMonis coherent solution provides a consumption overview in real time based on the single units. For a Facility Manager it does not become easier to act on facts.

In small operations detecting abnormal operation is doable. In large operations it gets complicated.

A valuable overview

When it comes to reduced consumption, you should be aware of on- and off-switches.

When placed across units these can easily be affected by energy services or a power outage. In large buildings it also pays off to be aware if the heating is distributed through multiple inputs in the grid for district heating.

A solution that pays off within the first year

ReMonis concept is the only of its kind. It consists of three elements:

  • A sensor installed onto your water pipes or power cables
  • A gateway to receive data from the sensor
  • A cloud-based platform where you access your district heating consumption

This solution provides you with constant access to actual consumption data on your current and historical consumption – updated as often as every few minutes.

Act on facts to precede costly mistakes.
